In today's Technology Today, we discuss Amazon's announcement of their NEW duel-HQ in both NYC and Arlington.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Amazon has named two cities it's NEW HQ - NYC, in Long Island City, Queens and Arlington, Virginia. These two additions will work in sync as global head quarters for the e-comm giant. Between the two offices, more than 50,000 jobs will be created. In addition to the two new HQ's, there will also be a fulfillment and transportation center in Nashville. This smaller office will create 5,000 more jobs in the area.
According to Amazon, they will be getting some money, “Amazon will receive performance-based direct incentives of $573 million based on the company creating 25,000 jobs with an average wage of over $150,000 in Arlington,” and “Amazon will receive performance-based direct incentives of $1.525 billion based on the company creating 25,000 jobs in Long Island City,” the company noted.
This influx in jobs will help the local economies.
